Meat reheat part 3 – Sausages and my slow food movement.

This is part 3 in my ‘Meat Reheat’ series where I take older posts and try to improve my efforts. In this case, it is not hard to do better than I did on my first sausage making fiasco.

I have been experimenting with slow cooking. There are many benefits. I get time on my own in the kitchen and if I’m in the kitchen, I am working, right? If things go wrong, I can always do something quick to fill a gap in the menu and bluff my way out of it. If I get it right, the food can taste delicious. Really delicious. The big bonus for us slow cookers has to be financial. Cheaper cuts of meat and things like sausages produce the very best slow cooking results. Going underground – Car park poached egg salad.

The Wicklow Hunter has nearly forgiven me for my previous transgressions. You remember, the Don Draper conundrum. The only thing is, since my faux pas, he refuses to come into the office and insists on leaving free range egg gifts behind my car in our underground car park. This was different. The Hunter rang me and suggested a clandestine meeting beside the car.

Demarcating the internet for everybody’s benefit.

My eldest is very competitive. Some say, too competitive. When she started her travel blog, Shallow Pockets Travel, I helped her out where I could. I learned a lot by the process. In fact, that is what prompted me to start this blog. My experience previously was restricted to our company blog at advertising.ie.

For a time, all went along well. Eldest daughter (ED) enthused about her latest post and numbers of hits and so forth. I offered fatherly encouragement to her endeavor. Meanwhile, I quietly worked away cooking, photographing, writing and posting in my free time. All was well in our little blogosphere and in our home. Or was it?
