Pigs in the orchard

They say that keeping pigs in the orchard is good both for pig and orchard. The pigs get to eat any fallen fruit while keeping the soil in good condition and keeping pests at bay. One side benefit of this practice is that the pork meat from the orchard kept pig takes on a subtle apple flavour (or so they say). 

He’s not a bad lad really….

Any man who has daughters will understand.  The father will look with deep suspicion upon any fellow who is brought home and introduced as ‘The Boyfriend’ (TB).  Whoever he is, he is probably not going to be good enough for my girl. His personal habits come under the severe spotlight of my very critical gaze. If he drinks at all, he is probably an alcoholic. If he doesn’t drink there must be a deep-seated reason. He must have issues. If he shows an interest in cooking, he is probably just trying to make a good impression. If he doesn’t, there is little hope for the boy.
